Fast Track BSZ Upgrade
Do you want to upgrade your BSZ qualification to the current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110)?
We have great news for trainers and/or assessors who possess the Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (BSZ40198) and who have maintained their currency through recent training and assessment experience and professional development. You can now upgrade your BSZ40198 to the latest qualification, the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110) through MRWED's Fast Track BSZ Upgrade.
The Fast Track BSZ Upgrade is available if you can provide appropriate identified supporting evidence that will enable you to automatically receive recognition for at least 7 out of the 10 units required to achieve the TAE40110 qualification. If you are not eligible to participate in the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade then your best option may be MRWED’s User-Friendly Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) enrolment option.
Am I eligible for the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade?
The Fast Track BSZ Upgrade is only available to those who can provide all of the following evidence:
- A copy of your BSZ40198 qualification including a transcript of units completed
- Job/Position description that shows you have been employed in a Training and Assessment role within the last 3 – 5 years
- CV/Resume showing Training and Assessment experience within the last 3 – 5 years
- Letter of appointment / Letter from employer stating Training and Assessment related experience
- Evidence of professional development undertaken within the last 3 – 5 years
- 3rd party report showing at least two (2) one to one training sessions have been delivered
- Either complete the short quiz on OH&S and inclusivity in a training environment OR Provide evidence of OH&S and Inclusivity in a training environment
How do I complete the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade?
First, download the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade Kit v1-8 and use it to submit your enrolment and required evidence. It is only 8 pages long and gives you step-by-step instruction for how to get on the Fast Track. Then, complete the three additional Units of Competency through either:
- Providing additional RPL evidence
- Completing training and assessment through the MRWED Online Ecampus
- Satisfying the attendance and assessment requirements of three days of training at MRWED public courses
What are the Three Additional Units of Competency?
After being accepted into the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade program your competency in the following seven Units of Competency will have already been confirmed:
- TAEDEL301A Provide work skill instruction
- TAEDEL401A Plan, organise and deliver group-based learning
- TAEDEL402A Plan, organise and facilitate learning in the workplace
- TAEASS301A Contribute to assessment
- TAEASS402A Assess competence
- TAEDES401A Design and develop learning programs
- BSBCMM401A Make a presentation
Fast Track BSZ Upgrade program participants will have a maximum of the following three Units of Competency to complete through your chosen training and/or assessment pathway:
- TAEASS401A Plan assessment activities and processes
- TAEASS403A Participate in assessment validation
- TAEDES402A Use training packages and accredited courses to meet client needs
How do I apply for the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade?
To start moving onto the Fast Track simply download the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade Kit v1-8 and follow the Kit's instructions.
What is the price for the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade?
The Fast Track BSZ Upgrade Kit includes a customised enrolment form for applicants to the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade. You submit this enrolment form at the same time you supply your evidence substanitating your eligiblity for the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade. If your application is accepted you only pay $695.00, which covers the assessment of your Fast Track BSZ Upgrade enrolment and the fees for you to complete the remaining 3 Units of Competency by your choice of either RPL or study through the MRWED Online Ecampus. Alternatively, you can complete the three remaining Units by attending three days of face-to-face training at a total price of $850.00. Both prices represent substantial savings compared to other course enrolment options.
I completed BSZ40198 so is my acceptance into the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade guaranteed?
No. All of the evidence listed above is required for you to demonstrate that you have maintained your currency as a trainer and assessor and satisfied the assessment requirements of the 7 identified Units of Competency. Acceptance into the Fast Track BSZ Upgrade is totally dependent upon a MRWED Assessor confirming that the applicant’s provided evidence has satisfied the requirements for at least 7 Units of Competency to be awarded without additional training and/or assessment.

Do I need to upgrade from BSZ40198 to TAE40110?
Ultimately, the answer depends upon your specific requirements of you and your employer/s.
