The qualification will enable successful candidates to work in training and assessment roles within TAFE institutes, private commercial colleges, enterprises, community organisations, group training companies and schools.

Roles could include:
- undertaking safety inductions
- conducting job search training
- coaching (sports and business)
- training of volunteers (e.g. Rural Fire Service)
- providing product training (i.e. how to use the product)
- involvement in traineeship mentoring
- conducting of workplace assessments
- delivering training in a traditional classroom environment at a TAFE or private Registered Training Organisation.
- delivering training in an enterprise or business environment
Who should undertake the Cert IV Training and Assessment qualification?
- People for whom training and assessment are large parts
of their job, or their full job function within a structured
training and assessment system.This may include training
and human resource development staff, as well as
managers, supervisors, mentors and coaches. - People who have a considerable responsibility for
planning, conducting, evaluating and modifying training
programs and assessment tools. - People who participate in the planning and delivery of on-the-job training for staff, trainees and volunteers.

training programs. - People who want to work as a trainer and/or assessor with a
